Grief counselling is a service we provide to support people who have had a loss of some variety.
Feelings of grief can often feel as though they will go on forever. They can at times feel unbearable as a person cycles through a variety of emotions, including:
- Sadness
- Anger
- Guilt
- Anxiety
- Loneliness
People may also find it difficult to concentrate, have continual thoughts about their loved one or even have dreams or visions including them.
There are also a variety of physical symptoms that may be experienced, which people may not realise are associated with grief, including:
- A sensation of emptiness in the stomach or chest
- Breathlessness
- Fatigue
- Changes in appetite
- Changes in sleep
It is important not to rush your own grieving or to let others rush you through your experience of grief. Grief counselling can provide support for people whilst they are grieving and assist them in processing the experience of grief.
